29 May 2017 - HAPPY BIRTHDAY ELDER McMILLAN!

This is Elder McMillan's mom - today was a beautiful day for Elder McMillan and for our family.  The wonderful loving people of Peru took such care to make today a special birthday for Elder McMillan.  As you can see they made cakes, gave gifts, and shared the photos with our family.  We love the people of Peru and appreciate their love for Elder McMillan.

We were lucky his birthday fell on a p-day - here is his letter:

I am so happy today! I am 20 years old, that is so crazy. I don't feel like a 20 year old haha! I am so so happy and I feel good.

I am doing so good today. My pencionista is going to do a family home evening for me. I am excited for it.  A member just called me because she wants to invite me to some cake in her house. I love the people here!

We have a date for the 17th. Her name is Alicia. She is  63 years old. She is so awesome and we are so excited for her. She was watching a video of the baptism of Christ and just said to us I want to do that. She is reading the Book of Mormon and goes to church. We are so excited for her!

I am so momma. I love missionary work. I know it is true. I know this church is true. I am so happy here.

I cant believe that it is almost June. that means I will almost have 2 months left! Oh my word that shocks me. I love you all so much.

I am staying in Bellamar! I am so excited because I am going to stay in Bellamar with Elder Stroud!  I am so happy and so excited. We are going to have 2 baptisms in June, so I'm so excited to stay and keep working to help them.   I love you all so much and I hope every one is doing good!

I am so so so excited for Mason and Jessica! It feels so weird that my older brother is going to be a dad! That is so crazy! I am so excited for them and happy for them. 

This mission has been awesome.  It definitely has been the hardest 2 years of my life, but it has also been the best 2 years of my life. I have learned and grown a lot. I am much more independent in myself now than I ever was before. I feel like as a leader in the mission, the Lord is preparing me to be a father. I feel like the missionaries are sometimes my kids hahaha! I love the people of Peru so much. They are so special to me. It is awesome.

I hope everyone's good.  I love you all so much.

Mother's Day Skype May 14, 2017

15 MAY 2017

Yesterday, May 14th was Mother's Day so we had the opportunity to Skype with Elder McMillan.  He is doing wonderfully well!  He is happy and loving every minute of the mission.  We love him and we are so proud of him.  Below is an excerpt from this week's email:

I am doing good. I am working and giving it my all. I just don't want to let God down. I just want to be able to be happy with my mission and not have regrets, and I know if I give it my all, God will bless me and help me.  I just want to be the best missionary I can be, and Elder Stroud and I are helping one another. I love the mission so much.

Dear friends and family,

I am really short on time so I don't have a lot of time to write.  This week was really good for us. We were able to find 13 new investigators, and the best part is, we have been finding families and we hope the whole families can accept the gospel. We are really excited to keep working with them and help them progress.

 Dear family and friends,

I love you all so much! I am doing great with Elder Stroud. We are way happy and trying to work hard. We get along great. He is funny haha!

We were able to find 16 new investigators this week, which is really good. We are so happy for that. We worked really hard. 

I can't believe that it is May! Two more weeks and we talk on Skype! I hope you know I am doing good and I am really happy. I am trying hard to work. I want to know that the Lord is pleased with my service.

Today we got to go the the stake activity  for pday - it was so fun! We ate a yummy chicken.

I hope that you all know how much I love you!!! I am praying for you everyday.
