15 February 2016

Ok - so now I am in change 4 in the field and it is great. My companions name is Elder Velasquez. He  is from America but his parents taught him Spanish this whole time so he is fluent and he is helping me learn and grow in the language and helping me improve my language.

Being a trainer was really nervous for me but I realize that all I have to do is have faith and have patience. I am learning to grow and be made better.

Lilia leaves for Lima this week. I am going to miss her  a lot. I love her so much!!!! I love her kids too. I know that she will be able to become a member where she is moving and she will have success in the Church more than ever before.

We found 2 new investigators this week and we're really excited to teach them.  One of them had some troubles believing in baptisms for the dead. We shared with him some scriptures about how the gospel is taught to the dead in the spirit world as well. His name is Miguel and all is going well.

The other is named Fernando. He is a friend of Sebastian. Were going to teach him more this week and hope that everything goes well!!!

Love  y'all

February 8, 2016

So this week was insane and now even more crazy.

We found out that Lilia has decided to go move down to Lima with her kids. She is leaving Abraham and going to restart. She is going to live there and the best part is that there is a church where she is going! We are so excited for her and hope with all of our hearts that she will be able to be baptized as soon as she can.

Lucy another one of our investigators got mad at us because we missed a meeting with her.  We were late because another investigator needed a blessing.  She told us she isn't going to believe anything now. We were really sad about it and you know we're not perfect but we should've done everything we could've. But thats ok we're gonna go talk to her today!

So it turns out that Elder Volquez is going to Chimbote to be a district leader. He is nervous but I am sure he will do great! I am nervous because I am now a trainer! it is so crazy and I can't believe it!

Tomorrow I go to Trujillo to pick up my companion and I am nervous! I feel not ready to do this but I know with faith I can. I love you all so so so so much and I hope that everything is going well!!

So after this week, change(transfer) 3 for me in the mission will be completely finished. I am so happy and so grateful for the opportunity that I have to be a missionary. I love this work and I testify with all of my heart that this is the true church of God!

So this week was crazy! I taught English again, and kind of told the Latinos they need to do their work in their English books. We also learned how to bear our testimonies in Spánish which was such a neat and spiritual experience.! It is very fun to be the English teacher.

So we had a lesson with Hermana Lilia and she is planning on not staying with Abraham. He just isn't changing  and isn't helping his family progress. We fasted and then more stuff happened between her and him so we are thinking Lilia and her kids will be baptized soon! She just said to us that she needs to think about her and her kids. So it is kind of sad but we think it is for the best and all this happened right after we had a fast together as a zone.

The familia Castillo are doing really good! We're thinking that the parents will be saved souls this week so we are really excited and happy for them. I love the familia Castillo so much!

So I realized this week that Spanish is so much easier than it used to be! I understand so much more and I taught another class this Sunday so the language I think is coming great. I am so excited to learn more and more as I progress in my mission. I love you all! Have a great week!!!!

The street where Elder McMillan lives in Chao Peru

January 25, 2016 - 5 months in Peru today!

Well hey y'all up there in Utah. I am just here in Peru getting more red each day. I am basically a tomato now so that is great! I love you all and hope all is going well.

We had a zone fast 2 weeks ago for families. We fasted for the Castillo family. They haven't attended as a family, but for now 2 times, Cesar the dad has gone with his wife. We are so excited for them and we will help them be a saved family.

Chao is really close to getting an actual chapel but what we need to do now is get 100 or more members every week so we can get a chapel. We can do it! We need to meet with the members as well so we can get that chapel full.

We had room checks this week. Hermano Rios came and wasn't very impressed with us hahahha! I thought it was clean, but we need to do a lot. She wants us to paint our room a completely different color haha! we need to fix the drapes we have and buy a bigger trash can hahaha!! it will help our room be so much cleaner! and i hate the color we have now so we can make it more nice instead of light green.

Sebastion our recent convert now is a home teacher! He is so awesome! Our goal with him this week is to get him the Aaronic Priesthood.

I love you all so so so much.

Well I cant believe that 3 weeks have now passed of this change. This is going by so fast! I can't believe I hit 5 months soon wow! This week was great and full of the spirit.

We taught Liz who is a less active who is almost a saved soul. she was so awesome. She cried and bore her testimony about prayer. She is so strong. Her daughter is Kiara our other saved soul. Her husband is Cesar and he went to church this week. During the hymn oh esta todo bien he cried. He says he is going every week now. It was such a successful week with this family. I am so happy and I have just realized how much I love this family.

I forgot to mention but I am now the English teacher of my zone. so every Tuesday I teach the Latinos of our zone English. It is fun but nerve wrecking hahha!! It is a fun and cool thing to do.

It is burning hot here in Peru. Everyone says you're getting so skinny Elder McMillan hahaha!

I love Chao so much! These people are so awesome and strong. I love you all and hope all is going well.

Sebastion's Baptism Day

Mission Christmas Dinner

Mission Christmas Program

January 4, 2016

Well everyone I hope all is well. I am praying for you all everyday and I hope all is good! So this week for me was absolutely amazing! I had the opportunity to witness the baptism of my first convert. His name is Sebastion and he is amazing! I had the opportunity to witness how much God had prepared him before we even met him. I was so happy and just love him so much! I know we will stay in touch forever. It was amazing being able to see his face after he came out of the water. The peace I saw and the happiness - it doesn't get better than that. I testify that this is the work of the Lord. I testify that God lives and that with God all is possible. I love you all so much.

Now Sebastion is saying he wants to go on a mission as well which is awesome! I know he would be a great missionary because he has such a strong testimony about the Book of Mormon.

I hope you all remember that God is real. He literally is our father, and when we need, we can talk to him. We can communicate with him. All we have to do is kneel, and bow our heads we can listen to him.

Happy new year!
